I am very disappointed that this was nothing but a lecture series. Guess I didn’t read the synopsis right before paying for it. The lecturer might be very intelligent but comes across dry and uses too many statistics to suite me. Sorry I purchased it.

I was not sure I could stay engaged with 36 lessons on nutrition, but I was pleasantly surprised. Not only did I stay engaged, but I looked forward to the next lesson and thoroughly enjoyed the course. Unlike some reviewers, I especially liked Professor Anding's presentation and delivery. She seemed to truly enjoy presenting the material and her enthusiasm for the subject was a plus. I appreciated the way the course was structured overall, as well as each lesson. I liked her "real world" examples and insights. I highly recommend this to anyone interested the subject.

She has turned a boring topic (to me) to something that I enjoy learning. I have learned a ton of facts that I am going to use to improve my health. Thank you for the lectures. I am glad that I took the class.

As a fellow dietitian, I thought this series was excellent. It was thorough and explained concepts in layman's term. I hope to see more content from Professor Roberta Anding

The title is Nutrition Made Clear and that’s what this course does. Roberta Anding is a great teacher. She has inspired me to review my diet - and do some weight training! All the elements of your food is explained, where and how it is used in your body, what is essential and why, for a lot of things, more is not better. This course may be a few years old but I think It is so good that I bought it for my daughter as well.

I've been a fan of taking control over my health for a while now. After weighing 234 pounds in 2015, I decided to make massive lifestyle changes from quitting soda to exercising every day to eating more vegetables. In turn, I lost over 80 pounds. That said, my health journey also included many years of trying to figure out what was legitimate health information and what was not. As the lecturer so accurately states in the 2nd lecture, there's so much misinformation online regarding nutrition, and for some it's practically become a religion to find the "best way" (Vegan, Paleo, Keto). With so much conflicting and contradicting information, I eventually was introduced to science-based nutrition. I stopped caring about the latest diet fads and the latest Organic, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Grass Fed kombucha drinks and instead started asking: "What does the science ACTUALLY say?!" And this Great Course happily provides the answers that took me years to find! For those who are concerned this course is "outdated" because it was filmed in 2009, I can happily say most of the information presented here still holds up! Compared with more recent sources, the most scientifically validated health advice still points toward moderation, regular exercise, and plant-based diets like the Mediterranean diet. Really, the advice is so simple, but it's made needlessly complicated by health gurus online trying to get you to take their supplements. (For an additional source on the food science data, I greatly recommend "The Bad Food Bible" by Aaron Carroll who further emphasizes it's not WHAT we're eating but HOW we're eating it). Not only does the information in this course still hold up, the problems she points out still are a problem today! - Mortality rates in the US have gotten worse since 2000 (even pre-COVID) - Health misinformation online has gotten worse (e.g. Goop, Mark Hyman [who now has his own course on Wondrium!], Liver King) - Obesity rates have gotten worse (per the CDC website) 13 years old or not, this course is a Must Recommend!

I was able to learn so much about the digestive system, how it processed food, and provides nutrients to the body. I am diabetic and was looking for better knowledge on food, Carbs, Calories and the way the body digests them, and disposes of the waste. I am surely going to review this course again in the future to refresh what I was able to learn. I highly recommend this course!!!!
