Make Your First App in SwiftUI | No Coding Experience Required

Are you curious about the following:

  • How does anyone create an app for the iPhone or the iPad?
  • Can a Complete Beginner start coding at any age and create a functioning app?
  • Can I create and download an app on my phone and show it to friends?

If yes, this course is for you!

Have you been wanting to learn how to code and find this world of coding daunting? Do not worry, I have created a very beginner-friendly course for you.

We will cut out the jargon which unfortunately a lot of tech people use even with beginners. We will start from scratch, write the code line-by-line as we understand and see what each line of code does in real time. So we code, and see what's changing in the app. Simple, and best way to learn for beginners.

There are no special prerequisites for this course, except some general idea of what an app is, what programming is etc. You DO NOT require any coding background for this course.

NOTE: YOU WILL NEED A MACBOOK (or similar MAC devices) IF YOU WANT TO FOLLOW ALONG AND CODE WITH ME DURING THE COURSE.

By the end of course, you will know the essentials of coding and creating an app.

If you code along, then you will also have an app ready on your phone!

The course includes video content worth approximately 2 hours 45 minutes. We will cover the following topics in the course.

  • What is Xcode, how to download Xcode
  • What is Simulator and how to use it to test the code in a simulated iPhone on Xcode (on Macbook)
  • Getting familiar with the Xcode layout and panels
  • See my Xcode setting so that you can better follow along during the course
  • Basics of coding and introduction to Xcode Playground
  • Introduction to creating a layout of elements such as text, images, and buttons in vertical, horizontal, and z-axes (layering one on top of another)
  • Introduction to NavigationView and ScrollView
  • How to make the app screen interactive: learn about hiding and showing elements on tap on the phone screen
  • How to add an image to the app
  • How to add a working button (with action) on the app
  • How to ensure you are designing the app right even for both Light mode and Dark mode
  • Prepare assets for a game app
  • Write code from scratch for the game app
  • More tips and tricks to add functionality such as a game restart button
  • Export the completed app to your physical iPhone

See you in the course!
