Overview

Loosen up and de-stress with a colorful, happy abstract floral!

Hi there, my name is Suzanne Allard, I’m a floral painter and creativity teacher. Do you want to paint a gorgeous floral abstract that is fun and relaxing and that you can hang in your home or use as a gift?  You can!

Calling all “creative” and "not creative" people who want to paint!

  • In this class, I’ll loosen you up and encourage a playful, exploratory approach to creating a colorful, abstract piece with a variety of mediums (nothing too fancy needed).
  • From encouraging you to use inspiration AND intuition Suzanne will be by your side with lots of visual examples and coaching.
  • I'll also show you samples of this style of abstract gardens to get your creative juices flowing.
  • This is a great process if you find yourself “tight” in your painting or feeling constricted creatively. It can also help you develop your own color, texture, pattern, and composition “voice.”
  • Join a friend or two and turn this into a painting party with virtual or live friends if you so desire. Or do it by yourself.  Either way, you’ll be surprised at what you create!
  • I’ve also included some digital downloads of the pieces I feature.  You are free to enjoy these but not to sell them.
  • Let’s have some fun and learn to relax while making something beautiful!

Packed with all the techniques and approaches in Suzanne’s work, key lessons will cover:

  • Supplies and tools
  • How to collect inspiration for an abstract piece
  • Deciding on colors and overall style
  • Mark making with various tools and mediums
  • Laying down the first layer of marks
  • Continuing to add layers, texture, and interest with different mediums
  • Adding transformational details, unifying the piece and making it come alive!
  • Protecting your painting for framing

Maybe you’ve been painting and would like to loosen up and be less literal or realistic, or maybe you’ve never painted, and you’d love to learn how to create an abstract composition.  Either way, come along and be inspired and supported while you learn to create something you didn’t know you could.
