This class is divided into 3 parts:

• Understanding your markers
• Essential Blending Techniques
• Coloring images that "pop" off the page

Part 1 - Get to know your markers:

• What makes alcohol-based markers so special & the different styles available
• How to read the Copic numbering system and choose colors that blend well
• How to grow your collection
• The best paper and inks that will give you consistent results
• How to replace the nibs and refill the ink inside your markers so that they can last you for years

Part 2 - Essential blending techniques:

• 6 basic blending techniques + how to use the colorless blender
• Clever ways to stretch the use of your markers as you grow your collection
• The 3 biggest mistakes beginners make (so you can avoid them!)

Part 3 - H ow to make your colored****images "pop" off the page:

• How to achieve beautiful contrast
• How to color a beautiful butterfly illustration & turn it into a thank you card for someone special

By the end of the class, you’ll:

• Have a solid understanding of Copic Markers
• Understand 6 different ways to get beautiful blends
• Have the skillset to color a beautiful 3-dimensional image
• Learn key strategies to care for your markers

You’ll need:

• Some Copic-compatible paper (you'll learn how to test your paper in class)

• A small selection of Copic Markers

  • I suggest these colors for the butterfly project (or anything similar you might have on hand)
