Do you love paper, fabric and thread? Join surface pattern designer and mixed media artist, Lucie Duclos in her Collage and Stitch class, and learn how to incorporate fabric and thread to add interest and dimension to your paper collages.
This is a follow-up to her popular Collage and Go class on skillshare whichfocused more on gathering and creating textures on found paper and how to bring them into a collage. The new Collage and Stitch class expands on composition and how to play with negative space. You will make our own little library of shapes and you will create a stitch sampler that you can use for reference in your class project. You will learn how to turn any fabric into collage material, and how to use stitching as mark making elements to add dimension and interest. You will experience the whole creative process, from beginning to end.
Lucie was asked by Uppercase magazine to design the cover of issue 41, the Surface Pattern Design Guide issue. Here's a little video of how it came together.
